You will always appreciate the wonderful walk that leads you to the top of the city of Florence. You can choose several ways to get there, but the best one is through the little gardens behind the Tower of San Niccolò.

Something in the way is the title of this note, and here you are what I found going up to the top of Florence:

Almost to the top, just next to the Giardino delle Rose (Rose Garden) – main entrance is along the stairs coming up from San Niccolò:

  1. The only way to see the inside of the dome up close and enjoy the extraordinary view of Florence it offers is to climb its 463 steps (there is no elevator): the route takes you by the interior of the dome where you can admire Giorgio Vasari ‘s frescoes of the The OPA Combination ticket gives you entrance to the Duomo but you need to reserve your place in line BEFORE. Once you book your time slot, it CANNOT be changed .

    1. Hi, yes I agree, at the moment is also more strict because of the Covid situation. By the way, once you book try to not loose a chance like this. Thanks!
